Intellegration, LLC has been supporting a humanitarian effort to provide disinfected water to developing countries. The hand-powered Ultra Violet (UV) generating enclosure will make four liters of water drinkable in about forty seconds. Paul Berg with CH2MHill is leading the effort with added support from the University of Denver on an aggressive schedule for this portable device, as well as developing a household or kiosk water treatment device. Funding, approach, and strategic criteria are topics for a joint planning meeting in late June, 2009.
As of September 2009, Paul Berg and his family are in Uganda on a long-term mission to test and distribute prototypes of this water purifier.
